Really loved our short stay at Alison’s place. Stunning location, very peaceful and so much wonderful walking right on the doorstep. The cottage was perfect for my husband and I and our two big dogs – Alison was very accommodating and helpful, right from the start. We want to come back!

The cottage is lovely and in a beautiful location. Everything was well prepared. There were some thoughtful touches including fresh flowers, and some local produce. Communication was excellent and we felt that we were very welcome. A very good find!

A unique place far from the maddening crowds of places like Lyme Regis yet close enough to use as a base for exploring Dorset. Very true to the description. Down narrow country lanes with pastures and beautiful walks all around. Good restaurants within walking distance. Alison was very responsive and gave us great suggestions on restaurants and walks. We loved our stay.

Alison has created a lovely haven for visiting the area. The cottage is in a beautiful spot, thoughtfully furnished (incredibly comfortable beds!) and has everything you need as a cosy, peaceful base. Nice touches like fresh flowers in every room and delicious locally-produced staples waiting in the kitchen were very welcome.From booking to check-out, Alison was an excellent host, quickly replying to emails and offering some great recommendations for local places to eat, visit and explore. We would absolutely recommend Alison’s cottage as a place to stay and would come back again.

we had a wonderful stay at alison’s cottage who welcomed us with selected local products and fresh flowers – what a treat! nestled in an absolutely beautiful landscape, an endless number of public foot paths invite you to stroll through the rolling hills or visit the beach on the jurassic coast. our small family of three (son of 5 yrs) loved the coziness and quietness of our stay, the historic walls, a chat with the neighbour, reading in the garden or collecting blackberries alongside the road for breakfast. we came all the way from austria by car and felt that we could truly relax in north chideock.when you go you definitely have to visit symondsbury – spend some time at the estate, visit the church, walk up the hill and enjoy the view, and, finally, have lunch at the café. we could’ve spent every day there, heaven!

A wonderful cottage with countryside walks immediately outside the door; The kitchen was a lovely space and made a real heart/hearth to the stay. Also a nicely presented semi-formal garden space with roses, fruit trees and of course table and chairs to enjoy the afternoon / evening sunshine.

A beautifully decorated cottage in an idyllic setting. Easy access to local beaches and country walks. Alison was a great host – responsive and made the cottage feel just like home. We had a perfect holiday with our pup!

This is a beautiful and peaceful cottage, a short drive or nice walk from Seatown and local pubs (which have food that even catered to me as a vegan). There is also a cider farm who give daily tours only 15 mins drive away and the donkey sanctuary is about 30 mins drive! So we had the perfect combination of activities and R&R 🙂 Alison was a wonderful host – extremely quick to respond to my queries, gave us loads of local recommendations, very clear instructions and she was flexible, allowing us to check in early 🙂 she even left us some local bread, cheese and butter as a welcome. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend this cottage for a visit to Dorset and the Jurassic coast!

This was the perfect holiday cottage for us! Cosy, beautiful (fresh flowers!) and with everything we needed – tucked away and incredibly quiet.We would highly recommend Carter’s Cottage to anyone in need of a Dorset escape, and hope to return!
